First 300+ shots show at One Of Us; shot on 35mm film it was paramount to retaining the original film texture.
Steve McQueen is a meticulous director so every shot was carefully choreographed in terms of actor reactions; many shots were split screens by merging various takes; of which some of them quite complex or hidden re-times that sometime required extensive plate rebuild.
The second bulk of the work was adding wounds and blood on the actors, especially in the bowling alley sequence; this was achieved primarily in comp with SmartVectors. Tons of muzzle flashes and CG van door at the opening chase.

The van rear doors and shuttering glass were added in CG, along with some additional muzzle flashes and sparks
CG van door, following this shot the camera pans right and is stitched together with the following shot.
Camera pan ends in the front seat; bullet holes were added using some 2D textures and some FX elements
In the bowling alley sequence all the knife blades were added in CG. Wounds and blood was also added using 2D and FX textures.
CG knife blade; blood and wounds were tracked in with a mix of body track and SmartVectors.
Many shots consisted on slip-screens. Some required rebuilding part of the set or tracking in clothing of the standing actor.
CG roll up garage door to match the action, pulled holes and sparks added in 2D.
Some scenes were shot later in the season; so CG trees needed to added back in to match continuity.
Even the simplest-looking shot required some advanced technique to resolve the spilt screen, here the two actress comes from different takes.
Most talking heads shots in the office are split screen to have the perfect reaction.
